Robbie Robertson - new sounds from a familiar icon.

Always nice to hear new stuff from familiar faces. Robbie Robertson has been a favorite of mine as far back as the days of Music From Big Pink and his involvement with The Band, who I always thought were the quintessential American rock back of the later 60's - they just did it in a way nobody else could.

And as a solo artist, Robertson has always had something interesting to say. And that to me is what a great musician is all about - stretching, going further, trying new things, going new places.

How To Be Clairvoyant is his latest, it just came out. In fact, my buddy Dave Morrell over at Savoy sent it over just yesterday - it's brand new.

So tonight's track is an instrumental that fits just nicely with that big middle-of-the-week sigh of relief. Right about now a dose of mellow is just what the doctor ordered and Madame X is filling that bill nicely.

The album should be hitting all the usual places on April 5th. Check it out and have a sit-down and a spin. In the meantime, here's a taste.
