Obama's trip to Vietnam got a rap soundtrack this week.

The Vietnamese "Queen of Hip Hop", 26-year-old Hàng Lâm Trang Anh, who goes by the name Suboi, attended a town hall meeting with the President of the United States.

“Do you need a little beat?” Obama asked her. “Go ahead, c’mon.”

Suboi asked, “Vietnamese or English?”.

“In Vietnamese, of course, but I won’t know what it means."

Kudos to Obama for honoring her native language and interacting with her on such a personal level. It's not clear he realizes she is a recording artist and not an amateur, but he treats her with respect either way. And their exchange about sexism in music in their respective countries is worth the click.

I don't agree with everything Obama has done in seven and a half years, but I do think we are gonna miss this President.

Suboi's albums "Walk" and "Run" are linked below if you want to check out a snippet.
