Since it came up on Twitter last night, I did some research into whether that Republican convention totally inappropriate touching that Donald Trump exhibited on the stage with his daughter Ivanka had any historical context.

Fusion posted this video from "The View" where Trump discusses how he would feel if Ivanka was on the cover of Playboy (the ladies of "The View" asked):

“I don’t think Ivanka would do that [pose for nude photographs] inside the magazine,” Trump says, speaking for his daughter. “Although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said that if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps, I would be dating her.”

And then, as the words he had just spoken formed meaning in his mind, Trump asked: “Is that terrible?”

Joy Behar asks “Who are you, Woody Allen?” Everyone laughs, including Donald Trump, who remarks “That’s very good.”

And there are photos of Trump and Ivanka from her childhood and teen years that I personally find, well... I never posed like this with my father.

I'm not making any accusations of impropriety beyond what you see exactly here: evidence that Trump posed with his daughter as if she is his trophy, and talking about her sexuality while sitting next to her on syndicated television. This is wildly inappropriate.

But it's not as if his behavior and attitude towards women NOT his daughter is any different. Many wags recall the Howard Stern interview from 2003 when Trump told Stern that his then girlfriend Melania never pooped nor farted. And still, she married him.

Remember how many evangelical conservative "leaders" have sold out to this guy.

Barry Goldwater must be so proud that this is where his Republican Party has landed.
