New York Times reporter Danny Hakim posted on Twitter that former Trump attorney Rudy Jailiani has been informed that he is a target of the criminal investigation in Georgia into election interference. Hakim added that the former New York City mayor is scheduled to testify in Atlanta later this week.

Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti broke this down for us. According to Mariotti, Giuliani should expect to be indicted.

An individual considered a target in an investigation means that "whatever has been unearthed in this investigation suggests you may have committed a crime," CBS News legal correspondent Paula Reid said when defining the term "target" in 2018.

Via the New York Times:

Mr. Giuliani is scheduled to appear before the special grand jury on Monday at a downtown Atlanta courthouse. His lawyer, Robert Costello, disclosed in an interview that prosecutors told him Monday that Mr. Giuliani was a target.

Mr. Costello said Mr. Giuliani would probably invoke attorney-client privilege if asked questions about his dealings with Mr. Trump. "If these people think he's going to talk about conversations between him and President Trump, they're delusional," Mr. Costello said.

Rudy put everything on the line for Donald Trump, and he's delusional if he thinks loyalty to the former President is a two-way street. A New York court suspended Giuliani from practicing law in the state due to his "false and misleading statements" about Trump's 2020 election loss. He is hated in NYC now. He put Trump ahead of his life -- and other people's lives -- and now it's time to pay for that.
