Backstage Weekend - Humble Pie - Live in L.A. - 1973
A little something special for Labor Day Weekend. A live concert from Humble Pie, recorded at The Country Club in Reseda (San Fernando Valley to you non-L.A. residents) from 1973.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is one of the last concerts with Peter Frampton before he made an exit to form Frampton's Camel and go mega-Platinum in the process. I'm always reminded that Humble Pie were often referred to as "the first band known as Heavy Metal" - not entirely sure about that, since a few bands from San Francisco in the mid-sixties certainly qualified for that title. But in any event, Humble Pie were non-stop, high-energy and drenched in sweat. Way too many good shows during their career and I'm sure a lot of people have attributed their middle-aged deafness from one of two Humble Pie concerts of their youth.
I don't think I even need to remotely remind you to play this loud. The sound is pretty good.
