Cool site you have there! I love the kitty video.

Catnip grows wild in my garden ... my three cats indulge frequently, when they're not lolling around or chasing mousies and birdies. Life is never dull around here!

Mrs. O'Leary was working on her garden when two men came to her house. They were the managers of the brewery that her husband Paddy worked at. One manager said, "Mrs. O'Leary, your husabnd Paddy is dead."

Shocked she asked "what happened?"

The manager said, "He fell in a vat of ale and drowned."

Mrs. O'Leary asked, "Didn't anyone try to pull him out?"

The manager replied, "Yes many times but he kept throwing back the rope!"

hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahaha

all of my life, I've been to Independence Hall and heard the 4th speeches dozens of times. I was not fortunate enough to be there when JFK spoke (though I was in high school at the time). But, to me the best part is always when they have an actor come out on the steps and read the document that started this great experiment.

I think everyone should read the first several paragraphs of the Declaration on a regular basis - just to remind us how long the struggle has been and how important it is to preserve the Independence those brave folks proclaimed, and many died for.

I'm ashamed of where we are today as a nation. Once we had the wind by the tail...and now we are climbing out of the horse's ass.

Hopefully my children will see better days.

It reminds us all that they used to let intelligent, articulate and committed liberals into the White House.

Maybe you should set your goals on your grandchildren living in better times. Barring a miracle it's going to take a lo-o-ng time to undue the damage done over the last eight years, especially since Obama is showing no commitment to even beginning on that process.

You said it.

But we the people have got to LEARN NOT TO RELY ON THE FALSE LEADERSHIP PARADYM. WE ARE OUR OWN LEADERS.

This address is one of Kennedy's greatest. He wanted to end the cold war, and by some accounts, this speech got him assassinated by the military-industrial complex.

I don't know if audio is available for this speech, but it is worth reading if not hearing.

JFK

In January 1961, my mother kept me home from school (I was 11 at the time) to see John Kennedy inaugurated. She felt that it was more important for me to see this man become President.

I always had a special feeling towards JFK. Remember, this is when the office of President was something honorable and most Americans were extremely proud of him. His call of "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country," inspired young people to serve in government, foreign service and the military; in fact duty was one of the reasons I joined the Naval Reserve, and when ordered to Vietnam, went without question because of JFK's inspiration.

We have been living in a strange land in recent years. The long wars in Vietnam and Iraq, Republican political chicanery and big-business greed has turned many sour on our form of government. But I still hold out the hope of "Yes, We Can" to change this nation back into the promise that John Fitzgerald Kennedy always hoped it would be.

Thanks for the bullshit. Appreciated my free trip to SE Asia, too.

If Kennedy had not been killed, Nam would have ended in 1964.
