Ugorski and Lifschitz - carrying on the Russian tradition.

For a change, we're in Belfast this week for a concert broadcast on BBC Radio 3 as part of their Lunchtime Concert Series. A recital by Russian Violinist Eugene Ugorski and Pianist Konstantin Lifschitz featuring music of Bartok, Grieg and Ravel.

Since the Lunchtime Concert series is only an hour, it all fits on one player this week.

Here's what they play:

Bela BARTOK: Rhapsody no. 2 Sz.89.
Edvard GRIEG: Violin Sonata no. 2 in G major Op.13.
Maurice RAVEL: Tzigane.

Eugene Ugorski (violin),
Konstantin Lifschitz (piano).

Both Ugorski and Lifschitz have gotten very good reviews and a worldwide reputation (and a couple of Grammy nominations), and the Bartok is seldom played. So your Anti-Road Rage Wednesday comes with benefits.

Since it's the BBC it's all in English this week, so no need to drag out your translation books.
