Peter Banks was quite the guitarist in his lifetime and was with the band from pretty much the very beginning in the form of The Syn (remember them?). However, he and the band would part ways in 1970 and he'd go on to form Flash, another progressive rock group. Yes, on the other hand, would go on to add Steve Howe to the lineup, another excellent guitarist who would develop and change the band's sound. Banks however would have a 3-year run with flash before focusing on other projects and a reunion with the group in 2010 until his death in 2013. Banks was most certainly an influential guitarist that inspired prog-rockers everywhere and you can tell by his playing style and those who imitate it.
