Donald Trump and the GOP 2016 field's little hissy fit paid some dividends for CNN, but in the long run, it's not going to do anything for the Republican Party.

Reince Preibus released a statement today confirming that the February 25th debate would be yanked out of NBC's hands and awarded to CNN.

"The Republican National Committee has decided to move forward without NBC's participation in our February debate in Houston, Texas. The RNC has awarded the debate to CNN, who will broadcast it on Thursday, February 25th in Houston at a location to be decided," RNC Chairman Reince Priebus wrote.

By dumping NBC, they'll also dump one of the top Spanish-language broadcast stations in the country, but at this point, they've banked their future on old white men anyway.
