Well, this is quite the moment, between the hosts of Morning Joe and Donald Trump. Has MSNBC reported their in-kind contributions to the Trump campaign yet? Because he knows they're his go-to for hard-hitting campaign help, right?

Gawker:

The comedian and radio show host Harry Shearer has audio of what sure sounds like a casual off-the-air exchange between Donald Trump and Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. “You had me almost as a legendary figure,” Trump says at one point, apparently referring to a segment on that day’s show.

...

“I tell you what, the Bloomberg poll—all the polls out today look great in South Carolina,” Scarborough says at the beginning of the clip, likely referring to numbers which showed Trump in a large lead over his competitors in the state. (Trump went on to win the South Carolina primary.) Trump then asks the hosts if negative campaign ads against him are catching on, and both answer “no.”

Later, Brzezinski remarks that a clip from a rally that was played on that day’s Morning Joe was a “real wow moment,” and Trump makes the “legendary figure” comment in response.

The “wow moment” in question came when Trump invited two attendees at an event in North Augusta, S.C., onto the stage to speak.

The remark from Mika was apparently to her producer:

Have you heard the latest press praise of Trump? It goes like this: Jeb Bush burned $100 million and lost, while Trump spends chump change and is winning all over the place.

Does anyone in the press ever consider the unearned media they gave Donald Trump over the past seven months? Anyone at all? MSNBC has been one of the worst, too. They fawn over him like this, they play every single rally of his, and they yammer on about all the terrible things he says while shrugging helplessly over why he seems to be so popular with voters.

Hmmm, why do you think that is, again?

Update: No hard questions, please

After some cross-talk, co-host Joe Scarborough said, "We really have to get you some questions."

“That’s right, nothing too hard Mika," Trump interjected.

"Okay," Brzezinski said.

A spokesperson for NBC declined to comment to TPM, but Brzezinski told Huffington Post senior media reporter Michael Calderone that she was talking to her producer.
