Too numerous to mention, Donald Trump's career-ending moves are somehow quickly forgotten by his supporters and the free publicity-providing enablers in the media. The shock seems to wear off rather quickly, because the stories come flying at us as fast as a tennis ball machine (h/t Stephanie Miller).

But this is a really good one. And really instructive as to the mindset of Trump to exploit sick children and charitable giving without personally caring about either. Trump had the nerve to crash a ribbon-cutting ceremony in 1996 for a new nursery school, funded by the charity The Association to Benefit Children (with AIDS). The photo op was viewed with suspicion twenty years ago, and largely forgotten. Now that we know so much more, it's not the least surprising he'd be so disgraceful.

When Donald Trump decided the Washington Post was persona non grata at any of his events, that seemed to give editor Martin Baron (he of the dogged relentlessness of "Spotlight") license to instill in his writers extra motivation to practice real journalism and uncover all the ugliness that surrounds this horrible man. The WaPo's David Fahrenthold has provided extensive evidence that the Orange Führer wannabe is incredibly full of it when it comes to his charitable donation claims. The NY Attorney General isn't shrugging this off. investigating all the evidence in earnest. You'd hardly know about that particular atrocity, because but it's taking a backseat to some unknown emails found on the computer of a Clinton staffer.

In 1996, much to the dismay of those in attendance, Donald just showed up for a favorable photo op, and why not? Those poor children won't put up a fight, so the bully must have felt comfortable pretending to be as generous friend. Fahrenthold explains:

The bold-faced names took seats up front. There was then-Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani (R) and former mayor David Dinkins (D). TV stars Frank and Kathie Lee Gifford, who were major donors. And there was a seat saved for Steven Fisher, a developer who had given generously to build the nursery.

Then, all of a sudden, there was Donald Trump.

“Nobody knew he was coming,” said Abigail Disney, another donor sitting on the dais. “There’s this kind of ruckus at the door, and I don’t know what was going on, and in comes Donald Trump. [He] just gets up on the podium and sits down.”

Trump was not a major donor. He was not a donor, period.

Can you imagine if Hillary Clinton showed up at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to benefit children with AIDS, impersonating a donor and supporter? You can't imagine that, because it's beyond comprehension that anyone who claims to be a billionaire hasn't given one penny to such a worthy charity, or likely any charity for that matter. But when child rape, sexual assault and massive scams/fraud are at the top of his grievance list, this can get buried quite easily. Let's keep reminding everyone about Donald's unimaginable evil.
