This problem is entirely of Trump's own making.

If he had released even the first page of three years of tax returns, waved them around and said, "Yes, I took advantage of the tax laws to pay nothing, and that's proof I know where we need to reform the tax code," this issue would be over and he would be a tax reform hero.

But there's clearly more to Trump's taxes than that. George Will thinks the Russians own Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton posited all kinds of embarrassing possibilities why he's hiding his returns, and the election year media is just sitting on the edge of this information vacuum that he created himself, and letting the conspiracies suck them in daily.

And of course Team Trump is turning on The New York Times and their bombshell report that Trump "suffered" an almost billion dollar loss in 1995, and probably hasn't paid federal income taxes since.

Leave it to whiney baby Corey Lewandowski to question the legality of the Times reporting on the leaked documents.

First he says we don't know if the documents are authentic. Gee, I wonder who could clear THAT up?

Then, contradicting himself directly, Corey says it's a felony to publish someone's tax returns without their permission, so lock them up at the New York Times. Well, since they're not VERIFIED tax returns, Corey, you are outta luck on the felony charge, though I will lay down five bucks you'll see a felony charge before the decade is up for being Trump's Haldeman and Erlichmann.

Anyway, the ladies at CNN with you were highly amused by what you had to say, Corey, so you've got that going for you.

And later on Fox Judge Napolitano had something to say. The opposite, in fact.

Napolitano told Steve Doocy and his colleagues on the Crotch Couch that journalistic ethics would ask that the Times run these documents by the Trump campaign, but that since Donald Trump has made such a big stinking deal about what an awesome businessman he is, and also, duh, Trump is running for President, the Times would not need a day in court to demonstrate to any judge that there is a public interest in making these documents available, so grab her arm again, Corey Lewandowski, and we'll put you in jail, the end.
