Mose Allison may not have been an innovator and he may not tore down any walls. Taking influences from styles ranging from, but not limited to, deep delta blues and cool jazz for example and reinterpreting what he into his own laid back and conversation style, Mose was a total dude and a class act.

The list of artists whole have done their own reinterpretations of Mose's tunes is huge. The Who, Van Morrison, Blue Cheer, Bobbie Gentry and the Clash to name just a small few of the many. The Pixies song "Allison" wasn't a about a girl with the name either. It was about him.

Mose passed away of natural causes yesterday at the age of 89.
