After "bravely" standing up against Trump on the floor of the Senate yesterday, today Jeff Flake says standing up is enough to protect our democracy from Trump. Really.
October 25, 2017

In addition to voting in favor of letting big bank credit card companies screw us last night, this morning Jeff "Profile in Courage" Flake let us know he doesn't think impeachment or the 25th Amendment are called for in opposing "danger to democracy" Donald Trump.

NORAH O'DONNELL, CBS: What's remarkable about listening to your speech yesterday and reading your op-ed, you're not just expressing your opinion. you seem to be trying to ignite a movement. You write, "It is time to take a stand against Trump." If he is dangerous against democracy, as you say, should he be removed from office?

JEFF FLAKE: I don't think any of those remedies are justified. high crimes and misdemeanors, people talk about impeachment on the left. I don't think that's the direction to go. Nor do I think the 25th Amendment and the cabinet acting is either. But i do think that members of Congress ought to speak out if the president follows through on some of the policies or some of the threats he has made with regard to the first amendment, for example, or if he continues to -- in terms of the tweets and just kind of the debasing statements that he has made. And also on the foreign stage, I think we need to be incredibly careful about what we're doing. and that's what Bob Corker has expressed concern about.

And then Gayle King takes us to the next question on her list because she was not listening at all to what he just said.

So much for standing tough against this incredible threat to our democracy, Jeff. Enjoy your lucrative retirement away from the slings and arrows of Breitbart while Steve Bannon takes over your party.
