Hypocrisy, know thy name.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who spent almost three years investigating Hillary Clinton over the Republican-ginned up Benghazi nonsense--only to find nothing, over and over again --is now frustrated. He says that Democrats aren't helping him enough to investigate Russia's interference in the 2016 election.

I kid you not.

Gowdy joined Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday and was appalled-- appalled, I tell you! -- that somebody leaked information that indictments were being handed down from Mueller's special counsel.

He was also livid that the Democratic Party would pay for opposition research (something that all campaigns do) against Donald Trump, even though it was originally funded for by Republican operatives.

And he's really upset because the FBI may have used some of the information that was procured by the Steele dossier. No matter if it's true or not.

On the flip side, he's really interested in the already-debunked story about the Uranium One deal that came from a discredited book paid for by Trump's BFF Steve Bannon as opposition research against the Clintons.

Hypocrisy to the umpteenth degree.

Gowdy said he's very interested to know whether the Russians bought uranium in 2010.

Rep. Gowdy said, "So, what we know was that Russia was not our friend in 2016. It's not that big of a leap to ask, 'I wonder if they were our friends in 2010?' That's not that big of a leap."

He continued, "Yes, I do want to know if the same group that tried to sabotage our democracy in 2016 is buying uranium in 2010. I want to know that."

We know they didn't buy 20 percent of our uranium at all, but Trump wants it investigated to take some heat off himself so he sent his stooge, Rep. Devin Nunes to start an investigation.

Chris Wallace then asked, "We do know, as you point out, that the key is the Russians did interfere, they did hack the DNC files. They did hack and put out information about John Podesta's files. Don't we need to get to the bottom of that too?"

Rep. Gowdy didn't answer his question of course, but said he is investigating how Russia, Wikileaks and Assange "are not our friends."

And then he slammed Democrats for only focusing on Trump.

"I wish the Democrats would help a little bit more instead of reading the Moscow phone book during the witness interviews, trying to see whether Jared Kushner knows a guy named Igor."

See, it's no big deal if Trump's son and son-in-law meet with Russian operatives, who claimed to have damaging information about Hillary because of the Democrats' focus.

"I wish they'd help. But that's been my focus in 2017 -- is understanding that Russia tried to subvert our democracy. And it would be great if my Democrat friends helped a little bit," Gowdy said.

We know Gowdy understands these uranium stories are made-up crap, but he could always just read Forbes if he wanted to know about the uranium deal. "Claims of Clinton-Russia Uranium Collusion Are A Real Empty Barrel"
