Only Tucker Carlson can apologize for promoting one conspiracy theory while at the same time promoting another, and then claim he's not a conspiracy nut.

Tucker Carlson was forced to issue a correction for promoting the conspiracy that Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos had worked under “someone else's Social Security number.”

But at the same time he was theorizing on Campos, and with no proof, he promoted a conspiracy of his own: according to Tucker, MGM Resorts is controlling the media narrative by having Campos interviewed by Ellen DeGeneres.

After Campos cancelled an interview with Sean Hannity and went on with Ellen, Carlson interviewed Tammy Bruce and promoted a far-right troll's conspiracy theory about fake Social Security numbers.

Tucker played a clip of Ellen's interview on Wednesday's show, and lamented, "Is that really an interview? Turns out it could actually be a bizarre case of cross-marketing by MGM Resorts, owns the Mandalay Bay and sponsors the Ellen DeGeneres show. Huh!"

"Meanwhile, MGM reached out to us after a report came out suggesting that Jesus Campos was using someone else's Social Security number. MGM Company claims they verified his employment eligibility back in 2015, and it was his Social Security card."

The "fake social security number" story was a report from a nut job that Tucker himself had earlier glorified on his show.

Investigative journalist Laura Loomer has dropped another bombshell report regarding the Las Vegas shooting: Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino security guard Jesus Campos shared a social security number with a “Jesus Quintero.”

After reading the correction, Carlson brought out Mark Steyn and declared, "Mark, I'm not a conspiracy nut at all."

Oh, really?

Tucker continued, "But it looks like that interview you just saw, and I'm putting air-quotes around the word interview, was managed by MGM and that's why they put him on Ellen's show."

Only Tucker Carlson can juggle two conspiracy theories at the same time and claim he's not a conspiracy nut.
