Senator Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee stupidly told Fox News that military service members should not be required to take Covid 19 vaccines because they're not the same as other vaccines.

I think.

The first-term senator from Tennessee continues to embarrass her state with moronic statements that cater to QAnon and anti-vax wackos who hibernate in the GOP.

On Friday, she told Trace Gallagher her views on vaccines by claiming Republicans must protect military members from vaccination requirements.

(Vaccine requirements in the military go all the way back to George Washington's insistence that his troops have the small pox vaccine. Because he wanted healthy soldiers, go figure.)

"The ability to keep the DOD from firing our men and women in uniform because they're not taking a COVID shot," Blackburn said. "And bear in mind, Covid vaccine is not like any of those vaccines you think of with Polio or smallpox, things of that nature. This is a shot," she said.

A vaccine is a vaccine. Fear, hate, and anti-vax lunatics are byproducts of idiots like Blackburn.

"It is important to stand with our men and women in uniform to protect them and make certain our military is able to meet their recruiting numbers," she said.

Military Times reports that 97% of all service members have had the proper vaccinations. Those that were kicked out received general discharges instead of dishonorable ones.

There is no shortage of service members because of vaccine rules, dummy.

The only men and women in uniform Republicans seem to support are anti-vaxxers. Back in June, Republican Senator Roger Marshall supported new legislation to support these anti-vaxxers in the military.

Talk about weakening the spine of our fighting forces! If you are afraid of a vaccine, how can you be counted on in a firefight?

In the military, service members are required to obey orders, especially regarding health and safety protocols.

Digby nails it: US Military snowflakes

"By the way, service members have been required to get inoculated going all the way back to the revolutionary war. It’s kind of a problem if they get sick and spread viruses to each other in the middle of a battle, so the government has always required them to get the full battery of vaccines if they join up. I guess the woke right is too sensitive for such requirements. They are very delicate warriors."

Delicate warriors, indeed.

Mark Hertling, the former commanding general of the United States Army - Europe, had this to say about Blackburn's idiotic statements.
