Texas State Rep. Gene Wu gave an emotional plea for gun control after the Allen Mall shooting that left eight dead and injured seven others on Saturday. Americans favor gun restrictions, but Republicans won't allow it even though we witness mass shootings daily. There were three mass shootings on Saturday alone.

"The people who are responsible send their thoughts and prayers to God, and God has sent them, and no one is listening to the people that God sent," Wu said.

"You have prayed for an answer," he continued. You have begged for a solution. The solution is standing right here."

"Every time I see that fucking video ... I see my son," he said.

"There is no safe place in America anymore. There is no church that's safe. There is no school that's safe," he continued. "There is no shopping mall that's safe. There is no library that's safe."

"Not because of books," he added. "Not because of trans kids who want healthcare. It's because of things that people own. Because we value things over people."

Watch:

To the thoughts and prayers crowd: You've tried blaming everything except for the guns. Why keep sending out prayers when there is a solution right in front of you -- unless it means you don't give a shit about innocent people being slaughtered, and you were never really a Christian. Maybe God wants you to step up.
