Former President Donald Trump has a long history of racism, including his 2016 campaign of actively seeking to deter 3.5 million Black Americans in battleground states by deliberately targeting them with negative Hillary Clinton ads on Facebook.

Trump was sued by New York in 1973 for racial discrimination at Trump housing developments in the state.

Trump called for the execution of the Central Park Five, then refused to apologize even after they were exonerated.

Trump, in 2016, said about a Black supporter, "Look at my African-American!" By the way, his African American left the Republican party and no longer supports Trump.

But Trump wants Black Americans to know that his family never owned slaves. See, he's not a racist! Trump took to his Truth Social platform to share the news while quoting a Reuters article.

"President Joe Biden and every living President-except Donald Trump - are direct descendants of slaveholders: Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and - through his white mother's side - Barack Obama…" Reuters. I hope that every African American in our country is reading this right now. REMEMBER!

Sure, remember that, and forget about Trump's birther attack on our country's first Black President or when he referred to African nations as "shithole countries." How about when he told congresswomen of color to go back to where they came from and called Mexican immigrants "rapists."

And then there's the former President's attempt to 'both sides' the Nazis in Charlottesville.

And his attacks on Critical Race Theory, going so far as to "replace" The 1619 Project with Stephen Miller's 1776 Commission to get away from the icky "generational guilt" of slave ownership in the South.

Incidentally, it's not uncommon for white Americans to have ancestors who enslaved people. A genealogy enthusiast friend told me that it usually shocks people when she reveals to them an ancestor was a slaveholder. She told me about that before she did my family history. Five minutes later, she said, "Found one already."
