Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy proposed not only abolishing birthright citizenship to every child born in America; he wants people to earn the right of citizenship.

CNN host Abby Philip called him out: "Both of your parents are immigrants to the United States, so you would have been a beneficiary of birthright citizenship, but now you are saying you would ban that for people coming into the country?"

Ramaswamy said his thoughts only apply to "people coming into the country illegally," but that's not what the US Constitution states.

"I am saying is birthright citizenship as it is currently in law does not make that distinction between whether that person was born to someone legally [here] or not."

Since Vivek lost that round, he took his citizenship position to the extreme.

"I don't think someone, just because they are born in this country, even a sixth generation American, should automatically enjoy all the privileges of citizenship until they have earned it. One of the things I've said is every high school student who graduates from high school should have to pass the same civics test that every immigrant has to pass to become a citizen of this country."

Blah, blah, blah.

Another ludicrous Republican spewing unserious garbage at the TV screen.
