As we've already discussed here, Republicans with the help of some propagandists in the media have been floating the notion that Trump should run for House Speaker now that the chaos caucus has ousted Kevin McCarthy. But, as we've also discussed here, and as The New York Post finally admitted this week, there's one little problem with that, which is that House rules don't allow it.

On this Thursday's Fox & Friends, cohost Steve Doocy also finally admitted that the rule about felony indictments would prohibit Trump from being elected Speaker unless they change it, and, in keeping with the tradition we've seen from them that Chris Hayes just discussed the previous evening, which is Republicans and the right constantly trying to blame Democrats for the problems they create, Doocy floated the notion that Democrats would all vote for Trump if someone put his name into nomination, because they're the ones that supposedly want chaos just to Republicans to look bad.

DOOCY: So, with the 118th Congress, there is this rule, and this would apply to Donald Trump, because Donald Trump, you know, if he is toying with the idea, apparently he can't, the article that's in the New York Post this morning, Donald Trump can't be Speaker right now, because there is a House rule that restricts people with felony indictments from House leadership and because he is facing all those charges.

The House certainly could change it. But I was talking to somebody down in DC yesterday. You know, just imagine, if somebody put Donald Trump's name into nomination, every Democrat would vote for Donald Trump, because if you look at X right now, the White House and the DBC, they are talking about all the chaos on the Republican side with the Capitol coup.

They would love the chaos to continue. So, if Donald Trump were in nomination, every Democrat in the House would vote for him, and he only needs five Republicans. He could be, if they change that rule, the next Speaker. That would be crazy!

Yes, it would be "crazy" because Trump's insane and has absolutely no interest in governing. I can't think of a single Democrat that would vote for him as Speaker. You've also gotta' love the fact that he just admitted that putting Trump in there would cause chaos. Hey Doocy, if he would be nothing but a headache as Speaker, why in the hell should anyone want him to be president again either?

Sorry Steve, but the ones creating the chaos are Republicans. They made this bed. Now they can lie in it.
