Former Governor of New Jersey and GOP presidential hopeful Chris Christie is suspending his 2024 campaign, which will likely toss some support toward Nikki Haley. However, adding some drama to his exit, Christie was caught on a hot mic explaining that he feels Haley's chances aren't good, and he didn't have anything significant to say about "petrified" Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis either.

The Daily Beast reports that the "Wayne" Christie is speaking to in the audio is former New Hampshire Republican Party chairman Wayne MacDonald.

"People don't want to hear it, Wayne," Christie can be heard saying. "They don't want to hear it. We know we're right, but they don't want to hear it, and there's, you know, we couldn't have been any clearer. We couldn't have been any more any more direct or worked any harder so you know."

"Well, when you give land to China and places like that," Wayne says.

"Yeah, that's what you get," Christie said. "I mean, look, she's spent 68 million so far just on TV. Spent 68 million so far. Fifty-nine million were spent by DeSantis, and we spent 12. I mean, who's punching above their weight, and who's getting a return on their investment, you know?"

"And she's gonna get smoked, and you and I both know it she's not up to this," Christie continued.

"She's still 20 points behind Trump in New Hampshire, right?" Wayne asks.

"Yeah, oh yeah," Christie tells Wayne.

"And he's still gonna carry Iowa, right?" Wayne asks.

"Yes, always," Christie says. "I talked to DeSantis called me. Petrified that I would..."

Wayne responds, saying DeSantis is "probably getting out of Iowa."

And that's a great way to exit a race. Christie has not officially endorsed anyone and is not brave enough to support Biden. Christie has displayed some bold moments during this race, so who knows if he has the balls to back Biden. He could surprise us, though.
