Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis refused to say that he will muster a second place finish in Iowa's primary caucuses on Monday.

During an interview on Fox News, host Shannon Bream pressed DeSantis on his prospects in Iowa.

"Do you need to finish second here in Iowa?" Bream wondered.

"We're going to do well," DeSantis said after a brief pause. "I think, look, I — I — I appreciate being the underdog. I like how people have tried to say oh what so so I do better in those situations and I think I have a record of of doing well as the underdog but but we're going to do well and we look forward to going to the next contest."
