Thursday was National Pet Day, a day committed to the celebration of our animal companions, whether they have fur, feathers, scales, or fins. They are always kind and loving and gentle. They are always graceful and composed. And their health benefits for their hoomins are undeniable. They lower blood pressure, they help with depression, and they help give people a sense of purpose. Unless they aren't any of those things, then they are just funny as heck. But they still help with our health since laughter is the best medicine.

But the one thing I don't understand is the whole concept of National Pet Day. In our house, every day is National Pet Day. It's their world. We just get to live in it and buy them kibble and noms. Lots of noms.
