NEW YORK (WABC) -- New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was taken into custody Thursday morning and is expected to be charged in a political corruption case. Silver, a Democrat, is one of the most powerful figures in state politics. The story was first reported by the New York Times. He likely will appear in federal court in Lower Manhattan.
