Catholic League President Bill Donohue on Monday demanded that HBO cancel Real Time with Bill Maher after the late night comedian invited on a gay guest who blasted priests who sexually abuse children.

On his Friday night show, Maher pointed out to sex columnist Dan Savage that a Catholic Bishop who opposed marriage equality in Hawaii had said that children with same sex parents were at a greater risk of suicide.

"That's total bullsh*t," Savage shot back. "He's confusing children with gay parents with children who are raped by Catholic priests."

"Sorry, I am just done being lectured about children and their safety by Catholic-f*cking bishops, priests, cardinals.” he continued. “The pope, himself, has let it go. The new pope, who I kind of dig, has let it go."

Savage noted that Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas John Paprocki had recently performed an exorcism on the state of Illinois after Gov. Pat Quinn (D) signed a bill legalizing same sex marriage.

"To exorcise the state of gay people of having full civil equality!" Savage said. "No exorcism, exorcising the demons of, like, kiddie-f*cking Catholic priests. They never got around to that exorcism."

"They don't have moral high ground when they talk about the welfare and safety of children, they just don't," he added. "They have squandered that on the tips of their d*cks."

In a Monday post on his Catholic League blog, Donohue called on the board of directors at Time Warner, the parent company of HBO, to end their relationship with Maher.

"On Friday night, Maher teed up Dan Savage, another anti-Catholic bigot. What happened was particularly vicious," he wrote. "We are sending to every member of Time Warner’s board of directors a copy of 54 anti-Catholic statements made by Bill Maher on TV."

"Friday’s show concluded the season," Donohue said. The time has come to close this show once and for all."

In a Twitter post on Monday, Savaged asked if he was supposed to "praise" the "kiddie-f*cking Catholic priests."

"The Church covers up and enables, the Bill Donohues run interference, the authorities turn a blind eye... so, yeah, someone has to condemn," he wrote.
