Doris Kearns Goodwin decided to play the Villagers favorite game of false equivalencies, pairing up nonexistent Democrats with real Republicans on this Sunday on Meet the Press.

Here's your supposed "neutral journalist" carrying water for Republicans with the Villagers favorite game of false equivalencies, where you pair up a nonexistent Democrat with actual Republicans and their bad behavior. I'm not sure who Meet the Press guest Doris Kearns Goodwin was supposedly talking about here, since no one bothered to ask her, but I don't recall any Democrats cheering for the Republican's hostage taking where they decided to shut down the government and cause billions of dollars worth of damage to our economy.

I do however remember some wingnut Republicans doing just that. In Kearns' world though, it's "both sides."

DORIS KEARNS GOODWIN: But here's what's sad, Joe. I mean what's sad to me is, for two weeks, on the one hand, the Democrats are saying, "Hooray!" 'cause the Republicans screwed up the government shutdown, right? And they're feeling, "This is good for us." Now the Republicans are saying, "Hooray! Obama screwed up the rollout of Obamacare."

SCARBOROUGH: well, it's nice to know that --

DORIS KEARNS GOODWIN: But no, the problem-- I think. But the problem is people were hurt in both instances.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Right.

DORIS KEARNS GOODWIN: People were hurt by the government shutdown. They're being hurt by the rollout being screwed up. What's happening to our country when that's what we're feeling, the cheering for the failing of the other side?

Sorry Doris, but the only cheering for failure I've seen has been from Republicans.
