In honor of my little munchkin who turned nine years old today (Mommy is having a hard time dealing with her baby getting so big, thankyouverymuch), I offer up a mondegreen challenge.

Thanks to the wonders of the iPad keyboard app and piano instruction on YouTube, my kids have learned to play the melody of Breakeven, among other songs. The only problem is that my little one can't quite get the lyrics right. She sings "I'm falling, for Pete's sake" quite plaintively, instead of the correct "I'm falling to pieces". I kinda like the exasperation of her version, personally.

Any mondegreens you'd like to share, especially if you think it improves upon the original?

And happy birthday, my sweetness. Mommy loves you so much.
