Joe Scarborough sent a loud message to Donald Trump to quit trashing America. On Tuesday, the "Morning Joe" host went off on Trump and Trump voters because of their constant carping about our country. Scarborough said he's tired of the former president "running down" and "trashing" the United States. The MSNBC host's rant included shots at Fox News and said Trump voters want a "dictatorship." "Where are you from? Because you may claim to be from where I'm from, but you were not raised by the same teachers I was raised by, and you don't read… I'm getting tired of saying this to people who claim to be patriotic but hate America because they're always running America down," Scarborough said. They're always trashing America. They're always saying America is horrible, its democracy doesn't work, we need a dictatorship if Donald Trump doesn't win."
Fox News and many right-wing pundits were outraged by Scarborough's comments, since he is a former GOP Congressman. But Scarborough isn't wrong.
Trump Rages Against America
There are hundreds of examples of the former president's diatribes against America. New York Magazine reported on the 2023 Trump rally in Waco, Texas, on the 30th anniversary of the FBI siege of the Branch Davidian compound. NY Magazine noted Trump's Waco speech made his "American Carnage" 2017 inaugural address "seem like something from Sesame Street." Here is a sample of the former president's Waco speech:
"We are a failing nation. We are a nation with the highest inflation rate in 50 years, where banks are collapsing and interest rates are far too high. We are a nation where energy costs have reached their highest level in our history … We are a nation that is consumed by the radical left's new deal … everyone knows … will lead to our destruction."
